We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with strong experience in SQL Server, SSIS-based ETL, and a
growing interest in AI-driven analytics. This role supports a data modernization initiative focused on
advancing business intelligence, data integration, and anomaly detection across cyber audit and operational
datasets.
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with curiosity — capable of building reliable data
pipelines, intuitive dashboards, and intelligent insights that enhance data security and governance
outcomes.
DC area location; majority telework with occasional in-person meetings.
- Design, build, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic data models supporting
mission and audit reporting.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), DAX measures, and performance tuning for large datasets.
- Support the Power BI workspace deployment lifecycle (Dev → QA → Prod) following configuration and
security standards.
- Collaborate with data stewards and program teams to ensure data accuracy, metadata alignment, and
consistency across reports.
- Write and optimize T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support analytical models and ETL
processes.
- Work with on-premises SQL Server 2019/2022 environments, including linked servers, permissions, and
gateway connections.
- Perform data validation and profiling for quality assurance and compliance.
- Develop and maintain SSIS packages that extract data from multiple sources, including REST APIs, SQL
Server, SharePoint, and flat files.
- Automate data refreshes and orchestrate job scheduling within SQL Agent or enterprise schedulers.
- Implement error handling, audit logging, and metadata tracking in ETL processes.
- Integrate AI/ML components into reporting solutions to detect anomalies and irregularities in cyber
audit or operational data.
- Identify unusual trends or potential security issues.
- Design proof-of-concepts to demonstrate predictive analytics and pattern recognition capabilities
for federal data.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and access control policies.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and documentation of user stories and acceptance
criteria.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- 7+ years of experience with SQL Server (on-prem), including stored procedures and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL and data integration (REST APIs, SQL data sources).
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts for anomaly detection and tools such as Python, R, or Azure
Machine Learning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced federal
environment.
- U.S. citizenship required.
